At Teep, security isn't an afterthought. It's the foundation. Every layer of the app is designed to protect your money and your identity.

Identity Verification

Before you can send or receive money, we verify your identity using government-issued credentials:

• Bank Verification Number (BVN)
• National Identification Number (NIN)
• International Passport
• Driver's License

This ensures every Teep user is a real, verified person.

Authentication

We offer multiple layers of login security:

• PIN-based login: fast, device-bound authentication for returning users
• Biometric login: Face ID on iOS, fingerprint on Android
• Password login with email OTP: two-factor authentication for added protection
• Automatic lockout after repeated failed PIN attempts

Device Binding

Your Teep account is tied to your trusted device. If someone gets your PIN, they still can't access your account from a different phone. This adds a physical layer of security that passwords alone can't provide.

Transaction Security

Every transaction requires PIN confirmation before it's processed. For card payments, we support PIN, OTP, and 3D Secure verification through our payment partners.

Secure Partnerships

We work with trusted, regulated financial infrastructure providers to handle sensitive operations like bank account linking and card processing. We never store your full card details on our servers.

Data Protection

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted. We follow industry best practices for data storage and access control. Your financial data is never shared with third parties without your explicit consent.
